Product Details:
Huipil Backpack – One-of-a-Kind, Handcrafted with Upcycled Mayan Textiles
This Backpack Collection has been thoughtfully curated to give new life to hand-sourced, vintage huipils—traditional Mayan blouses woven by Indigenous artisans. Each huipil carries a story, with rich colors, intricate patterns, and natural imperfections that make every backpack a truly one-of-a-kind creation.
The interior is fully lined with upcycled corte, the traditional woven fabric worn as skirts by Indigenous women in Guatemala. This not only adds cultural significance but also ensures a beautifully detailed and durable interior.
We’ve partnered with a local Guatemalan leather craftsman to design and build each backpack using high-quality leather, combining heritage textiles with thoughtful functionality.
Features:
- Made with authentic, vintage huipil – each piece is unique
- Interior lined with second-hand corte fabric
- Crafted with locally sourced leather for durability and structure
- Ethically handcrafted in collaboration with Guatemalan artisans
- Perfect for everyday use, travel, or as a unique cultural statement
Whether you’re commuting, exploring, or heading to class, the Huipil Backpack is a beautiful way to carry tradition with you—sustainably, stylishly, and meaningfully.
